This year, Easter will be a bit different than in other years. During these quarantine days, you might not even be willing to celebrate this day. However, we should not forget that these days will be over soon or later and memories will always be with us. Therefore, it is in our hands to make this day unforgettable and amazing. We can still celebrate it with household members! And don’t forget to arrange a video call with the rest of your family and friends. There are so many platforms such as Whatsapp, Zoom, Facebook, Houseparty, Skype and so many more out there. If your elder members of your family are not familiar with the internet, you can still make a traditional call and make them happy.
There is no reason to cancel Easter Lunch!
If you are not even a good cook, you can still create a delicious traditional Easter lunch! It is time to give it a try.
Glazed Sliced Ham
Glazed Ham is one of the musts of Easter lunches. Glazing is very easy; all you need is brown sugar, mustard and apple cider vinegar. Before glazing the ham, you should cook for 3 hours and it needs another 45 minutes to be cooked after glazing. Therefore, you should bear in mind that cooking ham is the easiest thing but it needs time to be cooked.
Mashed Potatoes with Peas and Cheese
While your ham is in the oven, you can boil potatoes and make mashed potatoes. All you need for the mashed potatoes is milk, butter, and salt. You can also add peas and cheese in it. Peas will add green colors as a symbol of springtime, and cheese will enhance the flavor. If you are adding the cheese, don't forget to put less salt than you should.
Grilled Green Beans / Asparagus & Fresh Carrots
As a side, you can grill asparagus or green beans with olive oil and garlic.
What about Easter bread?
We didn't think about starters so you can serve Easter bread with butter. You can also put fresh carrots into glasses with lemon and salt as an appetizer.
My heart goes to carrot cake but if you don't want to bake it from scratch and if you can not find pre-made carrot cake at your local grocery store. Don’t worry, there can’t be any other better time than this to try a variety of Easter chocolates. You can buy so many different Easter chocolates at grocery and discount stores such as Fresh Thyme, Bashas, Festival Foods, Martin’s, Metro Market, Safeway, Family Dollar and so many more. You can check out the flyers of the grocery stores near you on promotons and find the best deals.
Easter lilies will bring happiness onto your table so don’t forget to add to your shopping basket.
During this pandemic, it is better to order online! If you can't, please make your shopping list and buy all your weekly groceries not to visit grocery frequently.
We wish you a joyful Easter!
Stay Home, Stay Safe :)
