Acme Markets Inc. is a supermarket chain that was founded in 1891 by Irish immigrants Samuel Robinson and Robert Crawford in South Philadelphia. Today, it has over 175 stores throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

In 1999, it became a subsidiary of Albertsons. At the present time, Albertsons has 19 more subsidiaries such as Safeway, Vons, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, ACME Markets, Star Market throughout 35 states.
